Camps & Lodges in Tsavo East

Tsavo West National Park is the largest park in south-eastern Kenya with a total area of 21,000 km2. Established shortly after World War 2, it is divided into East and West by the rail and road link between Mombasa and Nairobi. The altitude varies from 230 m to 2179 m, with the eastern part being flatter than the western part. The Chyulu Mountains in the northwest of Tsavo West were only added to the national park in 1983.
The landscape of Tsavo West is more varied than in the eastern part with rugged mountain ranges, rocky lava belts, hilly savannah landscape and dense gallery forests along the Tsavo River.

National Parks Kenya

Kenya offers its guests a variety of animal-rich and species-rich national parks with a wealth of flora and fauna. Vast steppes, green meadows but also waterfalls and deep jungle. Amboseli National Park, for example, offers vast and visible land with lots of grasses and some moors. In Solio and Aberdares we find jungle-like forests, many hills, mountains and valleys as well as breathtaking waterfalls. Tsavo East and Tsavo West, the absolute classics in Kenya, offer the greatest diversity of species and plants. They are also home to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which has been working for several decades to reintroduce orphaned elephants whose parents have fallen victim to the ivory trade and ivory hunting.
