The Masai Mara Reserve is the northernmost extension of the Serengeti in Tanzania, in the middle of the Lake Victoria basin. Extensive savannahs with endless, undulating grasslands, gallery forests along the Mara River. Gentle, elongated inselbergs dominate the fascinating picture of this park, which is rich in wildlife and covers an area of 1700 km2. Practically all the animals native to East Africa are represented here.
Every year from July to October, the Masai Mara becomes the backdrop for one of the most spectacular wildlife spectacles in the world - the Great Migration. The sight of so many animals on the plains is almost unimaginable. The sun-scorched grasses of the rolling savannah become home to more than 1.5 million zebra, wildebeest and antelope as they migrate from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of greener pastures and water. The Great Migration is unique to the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. There is nothing like it.
Masai Mara is the reserve in Kenya where you can see the most wildlife all year round and at close range! Masai Mara is a must see for an unforgettable experience!
