Tsavo West
With a total area of 21,000 km2, the TSAVO is the largest national park in Kenya. Founded shortly after the 2nd World War, it is divided into East and West by the rail and road link between Mombasa and Nairobi. The altitude varies from 230 m to 2179 m, with the eastern part being flatter than the western part. The Chyulu Mountains in the north-west of Tsavo West were only added to the national park in 1983.

- Tsavo West landscape: More varied than in the eastern part with rugged mountain ranges, rocky lava belts, volcanic cones, rocky gorges, hilly savannah landscape and dense gallery forests along the Tsavo River.
- Wildlife: elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalos, zebras, antelopes and various plant species.
- Birds: the rich bird life includes more than 600 recorded species.
- Worth seeing: the Mzima Springs, with millions of liters of crystal clear water gushing from the dried up lava rock of the Mzima Springs and the Shetani lava flows, makes Tsavo West a beautiful, rugged wilderness.
At Mzima Springs you can see hippos, crocodiles and many different bird species.
You can observe various animals from an underwater tank through a glass pane. - Poachers Lookout, a vantage point with a magnificent panoramic view.
On a clear day, you can see Kilimanjaro in the distance.

places particular emphasis on environmental protection so as not to endanger the park's sensitive ecosystem. The camp is located near the Tsavo River. On a clear day, Kilimanjaro can be seen in the distance. At the campfire, the animals can be observed at the illuminated, nearby waterhole.
Kilaguni Serena Lodge ***

was the first lodge to be built in a national park in Kenya. It is situated in one of the rolling hills of volcanic origin with a fantastic view of the distant Kilimanjaro. Almost all rooms have a view of the waterhole and the vast savannah.
Ziwani Camp ***

is located in a private reserve adjacent to Tsavo West NP on the banks of the Sante River - home to turtles, crocodiles and many hippos. All tents are situated by the river and are comfortably furnished with integrated bathrooms.
Salt Lick Lodge
96 rooms
is located in the western part of the Taita Hills. The rooms are in round bungalows on stilts, connected to each other by footbridges at lofty heights. From an underground bunker, you can observe the wildlife from a very close distance.
